My first day ever on Lake St. Clair was memorable to say the least. I met Muskiebobsr, and didn't even realize it. He told me his name and began telling me stories. I was amazed. I could have listened for hours. I met him in Anchor Bay, when I asked him if he was familiar with the Lake. Bob, if you read this, you might remember me. I was in a brown and maroon Ranger boat with my buddy. I was fishing for bass, and he really helped me out a lot. Thanks Bob. Fishing was tough for me, probably because I was overwhelmed by the lake size. But meeting and talking with Bob made the trip all the better. I got his business card and am going to order one of his books. I am used to fishing 500 acre lakes, so you can imagine my awe of LSC. If anyone ever gets the chance to talk to Muskiebobsr, please take the time to do so.
Thanks Bob,

Dear Bob,
I guess that I have a number of things to thank you for. First and foremost to me, is coming to my rescue. I appreciate you helping me out when the chips were down. I will not forget! Second, for doing such a great job. Very informative, interesting, and entertaining. And third, for a copy of your new book. I have only had time to read the first 2 chapters, looks good and reads great. Good info! You probably already know that you made a bunch of new friends. We are looking forward to seeing you again in May.
Once again, thank you.

Hi Bob,
What a pleasure it was to meet you at the Pittsburgh muskie show (I was the short stocky guy that bugged you on Friday afternoon about tying and fishing that new offset buck tail of yours!) Your spirit and passion for muskie fishing was very inspiring! You still have me "pumped up" over our talk! I thought your booth and personality alone was worth the price of admission to the show. You made me glad I decided to go!

Bob,
I want to say "Thank You" once again for the great five days Wayne Jr. and I spent with you on Lake St. Clair. We had a wonderful time. Your guiding was excellent. I have enclosed pictures of our catch for you. They are labeled on the back. Further, I have enclosed a poem I wrote about Tennessee Sue--thought you might enjoy reading it.Thanks again for your good work. I feel like we are now lifetime friends.

TENNESSEE SUE
In the year of 03 the first weekend of June
My Son and I came to St. Clair - Muskie Fishing our tune
At age 78 he puts on a show,
He was bold with a wager - he took me right in
Spy no 50 inch Muskie and five dollars you win,
I accepted the wager - the fishing commenced
We all fished hard - not giving an inch,
Four days passed quickly - no 50's in sight
Forty nine and a half the largest - not 50 - not quite,
Then day five began - I felt real secure
When suddenly this giant swam so close to my lure,
This Muskie was huge - very much alive
Her length 50+ probably 55,
Five dollars I gave to the Legend - I knew
I'd seen a huge Muskie - named her Tennessee Sue,
So now if you cast in the water St. Clair
You may wager with Bob - he will give you the dare,
For me I'll just fish till my face turns blue
In hope for a strike from Tennessee Sue.
A VERY SPECIAL PHOTO
The end of July 1990, six days before Homers 89th birthday. Hank, Homer and I on Don's boat had combined 181 years of fishing Lake St. Clair. We were taping a show for "The Master Anglers". Mark and I were co-host while Frank was on the boat with the camera man.

Frank Drake, friend and the man who nominated me to the Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame, presenting the plaque to me during the awards proceedings.
Dear Mr. Brunner:
I'd like to extend my most sincere congratulations to you on becoming inducted into the National Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame in Hayward, Wisconsin as a legendary guide. This is an extremely prestigious award which should make you and your family extremely proud. An achievement like this speaks volumes for Michigan and especially anglers in Macomb County.

It is my understanding that you display the utmost level of sportsmanship whenever you are fishing. In recent times, it has become a trend for anglers to catch fish and take them home to eat for dinner. It appears that you are setting an example for anglers throughout the state of Michigan and nation, when it comes to understanding and appreciating nature by catching-and-releasing fish.
Once again, I'd like to congratulate you on achieving the status of legendary guide. I'd like to wish you the best of luck in your future fishing endeavors.
Sincerely,
Alan Sanborn

Gregg Czarnowski, on Memorial Day 2006 we caught 63 fish:
42 Small Mouth Bass, 20 Rock Bass, and 1 Pike--and we had one Muskie follow.
Hi Bob,
How are you doing? Thanks for taking me on the muskie trip. I had a great time! I'm sure my dad had a good time too. Too bad my dad didn't net my muskie. I'm going to tell everyone at my birthday party. I'll teach him how to net muskies quicker. We will probably come back next year. Thanks again.
Sincerely,
